Last Wednesday Suzuki has presented the Savage on German TV (DSF, MOTOBIKE, das POLO Motorradmagazin). They wouldn't have done that, if they want to discontinue the Savage.
BTW, I'am new in this Forum, bought a new 99 model in March, have already new valves and camshaft because the dealer put only 0.8 litre instead of 1.8 litre of motoroil.
